4 More Ways to Improve Your Photography

There’s a plethora of how-to articles out there. So many tips, tricks, guides, advice, and so on. And I’ve found that improving one’s photography doesn’t really boil down to a neat, little list. So if you want to add to the messy, long, meandering list of ways to get better at photography, consider these 4 additional tips.

  1. Experiment - Take chances and try photographing subjects that are a challenge for you.
  2. Don’t listen too carefully to what you’re supposed to do - Find your own style and try to be unique.
  3. Take many, many photos - Digital allows for this. And the more you take, the more you’ll probably learn.
  4. Try some different lenses - They’re expensive to buy, so consider renting first: www.borrowlenses.com

I hope these 4 additional tips were useful for you. I’ve been enjoying photography so much more since I jumped into the world of digital and DSLRs. I think a big part of it is that I feel like the chains have been broken. I no longer think about being restricted by cost of developing film. So I feel unrestricted, take more photos, experiment more, and find myself straying from conventional shots. I think this has all been helpful in my photography voyage.

What are some of the ways you’ve improved your photography?
